AGREEMENT REACHED IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT AGAINST DENTAL COMPANIES
We wanted to inform you that a federal court has approved an $80 million-dollar settlement from a class action lawsuit against dental supply companies who were accused of violating antitrust laws by fixing prices on dental equipment and dental supplies.
With so many scams hitting us constantly, we sometimes hesitate to believe things, so this is a heads-up that it is real and you may want to participate.
From what we understand, any business who had purchased dental products directly from Henry Schein Inc., Patterson Co. or Benco Dental between the dates of August 31, 2008 and March 31, 2016 may participate in this class action lawsuit.
It was further defined that items such as dental chairs, imaging devices, CAD/CAM systems as well as gloves, hand instruments, toothbrushes, masks and anesthetic solutions are covered. This list isn’t inclusive but meant to be informative.
Supposedly, customers whose names and addresses are included in the defendants’ databases will be notified of the next steps to be taken. The class action attorneys also will work with the ADA so it can provide information to dentists, and the law firms will also set up a website to explain settlement terms and explain the process for filing claims.
